Create with Connie and Mary
Color Challenge
CCMC404

This weeks challenge over at the Create with Connie and Mary web site is a color challenge using Stampin' Up's Calypso Coral, Night of Navy and Smoky Slate. I die cut the butterflies using Butterfly Thinlits and Bold Butterfly framelits out of the whisper white dotted paper out of Color Me Irrisistible DSP that I sponged with Night of Navy ink. The solid butterfly background was die cut using Calypso Coral. The phrase is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set as were the small butterflies and flowers on the Smoky Slate strip. I then die cut the phrase using one of the Chalk Talk Framelits. I embellished the card using linen thread, rhinestones and the clear Wink of Stella pen.

Sketch Challenge for Create with Connie and Mary

My take on this weeks Stampin' Up! sketch challenge on the Create with Connie and Mary website. I needed to make a birthday card for a dear friend and this is what I came up with.

I used Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla and Pool Party for my card base and main pieces. I then added a strip of pink striped paper from the Birthday Bouquet DSP pack and a piece of Pink Pirouette 1/2 inch seam binding ribbon. The teacup, steam heart and tea bag tag were made using "A Nice Cuppa" and "Balloon Celebration" stamp sets along with the coordinating "Cups and Kettles" framelits dies. I stamped the Blushing Bride teacup using the larger solid heart with Blushing Bride ink, then added clear Wink of Stella to the stamped hearts. I attached the teacup along with a small silver foil doily and tea bag tag using dimensionals to a piece of Very Vanilla stock on which I stamped the small heart from "A Nice Cuppa". The Steam hearts, in both Blushing Bride and silver foil, and tea bag string (gold metallic bakers twine) were attached with the fine tip glue pen. The "dear friend" sentiment stamped in Blushing Bride is from "A Nice Cuppa" stamp set. Thanks for looking!
