Sketch Challenge for Create with Connie and Mary

My take on this weeks Stampin' Up! sketch challenge on the Create with Connie and Mary website. I needed to make a birthday card for a dear friend and this is what I came up with.

I used Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla and Pool Party for my card base and main pieces. I then added a strip of pink striped paper from the Birthday Bouquet DSP pack and a piece of Pink Pirouette 1/2 inch seam binding ribbon. The teacup, steam heart and tea bag tag were made using "A Nice Cuppa" and "Balloon Celebration" stamp sets along with the coordinating "Cups and Kettles" framelits dies. I stamped the Blushing Bride teacup using the larger solid heart with Blushing Bride ink, then added clear Wink of Stella to the stamped hearts. I attached the teacup along with a small silver foil doily and tea bag tag using dimensionals to a piece of Very Vanilla stock on which I stamped the small heart from "A Nice Cuppa". The Steam hearts, in both Blushing Bride and silver foil, and tea bag string (gold metallic bakers twine) were attached with the fine tip glue pen. The "dear friend" sentiment stamped in Blushing Bride is from "A Nice Cuppa" stamp set. Thanks for looking!

New Hobby

So, I'm back! It's been a long time I know, but a LOT has happened! My hubby and I were blessed with another child so, time has been a very precious commodity! Slowly but surely I have been able to get back into crafting. My latest passion is card making using Stampin' Up! Products. I'm posting a tutorial here that I worked on this past week. It is for a technique I used to create a Northen Lights card.  I had to divide it into two parts because it was too long for YouTube. (Even though it's not that long). Hope you enjoy!

Tuesdays Frustrations...

Ok, so I worked almost ALL day on my pennant for the Cricut Circle Meet up. I FINALLY finished it!!! This is as good as it's going to be. No time for rethinking this thing now, it's got to be in Utah by Monday. (Another trip to the FedEx store, ugh!) On to the magnets and CCs. Did I mention I tend to procrastinate a little???

Friday's Schedule

Lets see, I spent nearly all day yesterday trying to update my Gypsy. It took FOREVER!!! and lots and lots of attempts, plus two phone calls to Provocraft for assistance, which by the way, I spoke with a girl named Piper there.....VERY helpful. Thank you Piper!!!

Unfortunately, I had to start my day today by cleaning, YUCK! But as my mother told me last night, the longer you let it go, the harder you have to work at it. I like my sister-in-law's take on it though. Her thoughts are that when you die, the housework is still going to be there waiting to be done. So, she said she's just going to leave it to her daughter to do!!!

At some point today, I want to play with my magnet design again. I'm starting to feel very creative and don't want the creativity to leave before I accomplish my goal which is to complete these little buggers before my vacation is over.

I also need to try to get my hands on the Birthday Bash cartridge from Cricut. M's has it on sale for 39.99 this week. Would like to try to get it cheaper on EB though.

Oh well, here's to housework...wish me luck!

Today's agenda...

I'm sitting in front of my computer, and waiting for my Gypsy to finish updating. (It's been awhile since I've updated.) So far today, I've updated my Imagine, I've started my design for the magnet swap at the Ohio Circle Meet up. I really should be cleaning...oh well, I'll think about that tomorrow, Scarlet!

Today's thoughts...

Ok, so it's less than a month away from the Cricut Circle Meet up in Ohio and I have yet to think of a design for the magnet swap/calling card. I need to be blessed by the creativity fairy in my sleep tonight!

Mom's here for a visit and I can put her to work with the assembly process if I could just come up with an idea!!! Did I mention I only have to make like 120 or so of them???
